Pembrey R2 & R3 BTRDA

After leaving Lydden Hill it was a quick turn around with only a few days before racing at Pembrey. With us still not knowing if we had found our gremlins , fingers were crossed for a good weekend of racing. Unfortunately it soon came apparent that we still had the throttle response issue and again leading races and finishing down the grid after getting the car re started . The team continued to work hard to find the fault while we worked on setup the best we could to find the pace.

With mixed results throughout the day due to the issues the car again lost throttle in the final and we finished 4th. Saturday night was decision time and do we swap into the other car for Sunday or work through the pain and keep working to find the fault knowing we may still have the issues to deal with on the Sunday.

A decision was made to stay with the car and keep working through it. After changing a multitude of parts we finally seemed to be getting somewhere with the live data on the diagnostics.

Sunday morning and anything that could be crossed was! Practice went well and we were the quickest in Class on track. Race 1 we started at the back and finished 3rd, Race 2 we started on the second row and led from start to finish to take the win, Race 3 we started on the front row and again led from start to finish to take another win.

The days results put us on pole for the final and after a first corner challenge we led the final for the race and took the win with a strong lead.

The team and myself definitely needed the result to give everyone the boost we all deserved after all the hard work and hopefully that is the end of the gremilns. The last couple of rounds have not been great and you have to keep digging deep and keep going.

Our next round is Pembrey again for rounds 3 &4 of the British championship were we are hoping for another good run and get back some good points for the championship.
